Government recognises workers’ contribution to national development — PM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Madani government will continue to appreciate and recognise every role workers play as the main driving force for economic progress and national development.

He said the recognition is important to appreciate the contribution they have given to their respective jobs, hopefully giving them a boost.

“As Malaysia celebrates Labour Day today, it is not as an annual party agenda, but to recognise and appreciate the role of workers, from the lowest level up to management.

“I hope this year’s Labour Day will provide a boost so that we can further enhance the recognition in terms of reward, respect and compassion to the workers,” he said in a video shared on his Facebook page today.

Anwar, on behalf of the government, also conveyed his deep appreciation and gratitude for workers’ tireless efforts and unwavering dedication over the years.

Themed ‘Pekerja Kesuma Bangsa’, the national Labour Day celebration was held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre today.
