HULU SELANGOR, May 12 — Newly-elected Kuala Kubu Baharu state assemblyman Pang Sock Tao expressed her gratitude and appreciation to its residents for their support and trust during yesterday’s by-election.
She emphasised her intention to represent all residents of the state constituency, regardless of religion, ethnicity, and political background.
“I want to listen to and identify the most pressing issues for the local residents. I am eager to represent all of Kuala Kubu Baharu’s residents.
“This is a victory for the residents, the voters of Kuala Kubu Bharu,” Pang said during a press conference at the Umno Hulu Selangor headquarters yesterday. Harapan Selangor chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari was also in attendance.
She also thanked her late predecessor Lee Kee Hiong who dedicatedly looked after the residents’ welfare during her three terms of service.
“I also take this opportunity to thank the entire Harapan machinery and especially Barisan Nasional.
“Appreciation also goes to the media personnel who worked tirelessly to provide the best coverage throughout the two weeks in Kuala Kubu Baharu,” Pang said.
The Unity Government retained the Kuala Kubu Baharu seat during the by-election in a four-cornered contest by obtaining a majority of 3,869 votes.
