HULU SELANGOR, May 11 — Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) has declared victory in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, based on the unofficial results.
However, the official result is only expected to be revealed later tonight by the Election Commission.
As of 8.15pm, the coalition’s candidate Pang Sock Tao, who is representing the Unity Government, has secured 13,765 votes compared to the 9,837 votes garnered by her closest competitor, Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Khairul Azhari Saut.
The constituency has a total of 40,226 registered votes, although the turnout today is believed to be around 60 per cent, meaning Harapan has secured enough numbers to be declared the unofficial winner.
Harapan supporters have also begun celebrating the result at its operations centre here.
