Application for motorcycle purchasing aid’s second phase open until June 30

SHAH ALAM, June 11 — Applications for the second phase of the BikeCare-1000 programme, which provides advance payment assistance for employees purchasing motorcycles, are open until June 30.

State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu said the application form for the initiative offered to Selangor citizens is available at the Selangor Workers’ Empowerment Unit (UPPS) office on the fifth floor of the State Secretariat Building.

“Applicants must comply with the conditions, which include being at least 18 years old, having a valid motorcycle licence, and not being blacklisted by the Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS).

“They must also provide a copy of their latest two months salary slip,” he said. 

The Banting state assemblyman added that the completed application form must be submitted to the UPPS office before June 30.

“The programme is part of the Selangor government’s initiative aimed at alleviating the transportation burdens of workers across various economic sectors,” he said.

In 2022, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari introduced the BikeCare-1000 programme, which aimed to ease the financial strain on gig workers, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
