SHAH ALAM, June 16 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has expressed the wish for continued national prosperity and unity, in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha festival.

In a Facebook post, he said that he also prayed for the prosperity and safety of all Malaysians, especially Selangor’s residents.

“I also pray to Allah SWT for the land of Selangor and Malaysia to be blessed with peace, tranquillity, and prosperity.

“May her people’s unity and harmony be guaranteed so they may face whatever challenges that are to come,” Amirudin said.

He also took the opportunity to pray for the health of Selangor FC player Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim, whose appearance at a press conference on Thursday (June 13) considerably affected the Menteri Besar.

“I pray for his prosperity, and for his quick recovery,” Amirudin said.

On May 5, Faisal sustained fourth-degree burns on multiple parts of his body after being splashed with acid by an unknown assailant at a shopping mall in Petaling Jaya. The injuries significantly restricted his movement and speech.

On May 25, Selangor FC confirmed that the winger was released from a private hospital here after undergoing four surgeries following the incident.

Amirudin is currently in Saudi Arabia pursuing his Haj obligations, having just completed the ritual gathering at the plains of Mount Arafat today,

The Hari Raya Aidiladha festival will take place tomorrow, with many flocking to farmers’ markets and mosques in preparation for the long weekend and celebrations.
