MBI, AdvancePact Sdn Bhd work together to develop Biomedical Park Malaysia

PETALING JAYA, June 16 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI and healthcare management company AdvancePact Sdn Bhd is set to develop the Biomedical Park Malaysia (BPM) in the near future.

The strategic collaboration was signed on Friday (June 14) at the One World Hotel by MBI’s group chief executive officer Saipolyazan M. Yusop and AdvancePact’s chief executive officer Siti Ainol Khabtiah Mohd Jamil. State executive councillor for Islam and innovation Mohammad Fahmi Ngah also witnessed the event.

This partnership signifies a shared commitment to cultivating a thriving ecosystem for
advancements in medical science and technology within Selangor, in which MBI Selangor serves as a prime mover to develop BPM.

It will be responsible for identifying the project’s land location and size, as well as securing financial and investment instruments and coordinating all matters related to
statutory and the local authorities’ requirements.

Meanwhile, AdvancePact’s expertise in facility planning, medical equipment management, and project management makes them ideally suited to oversee BPM’s development and ongoing management.

With a proven track record in successfully navigating over 30 hospital projects across Malaysia, they will focus on integrating cutting-edge technology, which aligns perfectly with today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, ensuring efficient operations within the park.

BPM will also see the Selangor Biotechnology Coordination Office (SBIOCO) play a crucial role, as it fosters the development of the state’s biotechnology industry.

Their primary responsibility is to attract domestic and foreign biotechnology companies to the BPM, stimulating Selangor’s economic growth. SBIOCO also bridges the gap between key players — biotechnology companies, research institutions, universities, and private
companies — fostering innovation and collaboration within the biomedicine field.

Among the benefits touted by BPM’s development include economic growth by attracting investments, creating high-skilled jobs, and stimulating the growth of related industries, as well as talent acquisition by becoming a magnet for top talent in biotechnology, leading to a dynamic pool of professionals driving advancements in the field.

Another is enhanced healthcare for Malaysians, which ultimately leads to improved diagnostics, treatment options, and overall health outcomes.

The MBI-AdvancePact collaboration signifies Selangor’s unwavering dedication to
progress. It aligns perfectly with the First Selangor Plan and the Selangor Biotechnology Action Plan, emphasising the crucial role of a thriving biotechnology sector.
