Selangor assembly meet for two weeks next month, RS-1 review among highlights

SHAH ALAM, June 20 — The second sitting of this year’s Selangor State Legislative Assembly is scheduled to take place for two weeks from July 4 to July 18.

Speaker Lau Weng San said the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj has consented to the date. 

The sitting will begin with the swearing-in ceremony of newly-elected Kuala Kubu Baharu state assemblyman Pang Sock Tao.

She won the by-election last month with a majority of 3,869 votes. The poll was held after the passing of its former representative Lee Kee Hiong on March 21 from cancer. 

“During this session, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari will table the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) mid-term review, covering all matters, including the Sabak Bernam Development Area (Sabda) and the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (Idriss). 

“Additionally, the issue of foreign hawkers in Selangor, which was highlighted during the Selangor Youth Assembly last month, will also be raised during this sitting,” he said when contacted today.
