Selangor donates 700 cows, 1,000 goats for Aidiladha

SHAH ALAM, June 14 — The Selangor government has donated 700 cows and 1,000 goats for sacrifice during Aidiladha.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government allocated RM6 million to accommodate those unable to perform the ritual.

“All donations will be distributed through mosques and surau nationwide,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Amirudin said the state government has set conditions for suppliers that the minimum weight for cows is 270kg and goats must be at least 100kg.

“As in previous years, the state government has not missed donating towards the sacrificial ritual. May the benefits go to Muslims in need,” he said.

On June 7, Conference of Rulers assistant secretary Mohd Aseral Jusman announced Muslims in Malaysia will celebrate Aidiladha on June 17.
