SHAH ALAM, June 6 – Water supply to the Klang Valley after a scheduled cut has reached 18.4 per cent as at 9am, after maintenance was completed at the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 water treatment plant at 7pm yesterday.

In an update today, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) announced water supply began being restored in stages from 3am and will fully resume by 12pm tomorrow, as scheduled.

“The duration of this water disruption and recovery in affected areas will vary depending on the location of consumers’ premises and water pressure in the distribution system,” it said in a social media post.

The state water operator advised consumers whose supply has resumed to let their taps run clear before using the water for daily consumption.

Air Selangor urged consumers to use water prudently to ensure smooth recovery in other affected areas.

On May 13, the company issued a statement informing the public of a June 5-7 water cut for maintenance at the water treatment plant, affecting areas in Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor.

To mitigate the impact, Air Selangor said it would deploy tankers to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral centres.

It also provided alternative water supply to 13 local service centres.

More information on the scheduled disruption can be obtained on the Air Selangor app and its Facebook, Instagram and X pages, or by calling Air Selangor at 15300. Additional updates can be found on its website and updates page.
