SHAH ALAM, July 12 — KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) today signed a research deal with Universiti Utara Malaysia’s (UUM) Education Faculty at Hotel Mardhiyyah here.

KDEBWM managing director Dato’ Ramli Mohd Tahir said the pact aims to boost awareness among the labour force about Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

“KDEBWM has allocated RM10,000 for UUM’s Education Faculty as a research grant, and the faculty will study the level of awareness about TVET among our nearly 700 staffers.

“KDEBWM’s Operation Department and Corporate Communication Department will give full support in terms of data collection, interviews and site visits throughout the one-year research project,” he said.

He said KDEBWM believes the research pact will greatly benefit the firm in every aspect, including in terms of financial efficiency, daily operations and sustainability.

“It is hoped results from the study can contribute to the publication of useful academic journals and research literature as reference for students, researchers, lecturers and the general public.

“As a state government subsidiary, KDEBWM is committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility more effectively through initiatives such as this research collaboration,” he said.
