SHAH ALAM, July 4 — Kuala Kubu Baharu assemblyman Pang Sock Tao was today sworn in in front of Selangor State Legislative Assembly Speaker Lau Weng San at the assembly sitting.
Pang, 31, won the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election in May, replacing previous incumbent Lee Kee Hiong, who died from cancer on March 21.
Pang, when met by the media, said she is excited and determined to work hard to ensure the well-being of Kuala Kubu Baharu residents.
“I am excited and happy to be here today. I am very grateful to voters, and vow to work hard and bring the voice of the people to the state assembly.
“During the session, I will bring up the issue of industrial development in Serendah and Hulu Selangor, Visit Selangor Year 2025, and pollution management in Kuala Kubu Baharu,” she said.
Pang won the by-election with a majority of 3,859 votes, defeating Perikatan Nasional’s Khairul Azhari Saut, Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Hafizah Zainudin, and Independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin. Pang, from DAP, received 14,000 votes to defend the seat that has been held by DAP since the 2013 general election.
