SHAH ALAM, Sept 18 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI Foundation is committed to discovering and cultivating the talents of individuals with extraordinary potential.
Its head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said this initiative was exemplified by the remarkable success of Qaseh Rania Khairul Najib, the youngest player in the Selangor Football Association Women’s Football League.
“The MBI Foundation is always prepared to highlight extraordinary talents from Selangor who have the potential to succeed.
“We believe these individuals should be given the best possible opportunities and support to help them advance,” he said when contacted.
Citing Qaseh Rania as an example, Azri emphasised the potential loss if the 14-year-old’s talent was overlooked.
“Qaseh Rania is an example of talent that had previously been overlooked by the appropriate parties.
“However, we recognised her true potential, and the support provided was not in vain, as she was recently recruited by a major European club,” he said.
Since 2020, MBI has assisted in developing Qaseh Rania’s talent, including sponsoring RM15,000 for her participation in a training programme with NK Osijek, a Croatian League One club in 2022.
Yesterday, it was reported that she had joined VFL Wolfsburg after completing a five-week trial in Germany last August.
His father Khairul Najib Ibrahim said Qaseh Rania was also given the opportunity in several friendly matches there.
