SEPANG, Sept 29 — More than 10,000 Rumah Idaman units from nine ongoing projects are currently under construction and are expected to be completed in stages next year.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said 3,400 units in Tropicana Kajang and Bandar Saujana Putra have already been completed and handed to buyers.
“Most of the construction is in Bandar Elmina, Kwasa Damansara, and Bukit Beruntung. Meanwhile, 2,000 units in Tropicana Kajang and 1,400 in Bandar Saujana Putra have been fully completed.
“Other projects are in the process of awaiting construction approvals and planning permissions. These projects are part of the goal to deliver 60,000 Rumah Idaman units by 2027,” he said at a press conference after launching the Rumah Idaman project, Putra Idaman, at the Myra Cove sales gallery, here yesterday.
Meanwhile, Amirudin stated that the state administration aims to provide 3,000 affordable housing units under the Smart Rent Scheme by 2026 to help citizens acquire their first homes.
“The advantage of this initiative is that the state government will receive contra homes for free from developers in each project, accounting for 15 to 30 per cent of the units.
“These contra homes will be included in the smart rent initiative, with rental rates determined by market conditions.”
“The maximum residency period is five years, and after this period, 30 per cent of their rental payments will be refunded as a deposit for purchasing the unit,” he said.
