KUALA LANGAT, Sept 16 — RM250,000 has been allocated to improve public infrastructure and sports facilities in Tanjung Sepat.
Tanjung Sepat assemblyman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said the funds, under Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP), will be used to fix damaged roads, a community hall and a futsal field, and to prepare a carpark.
“At the futsal field, we replaced fences and lamps so youth can (use the facility) comfortably,” he said when met today.
Borhan said such allocations should be continued as they help people’s representatives solve local issues including improving infrastructure.
“I hope (the funds) continue, but it might need to be studied based on the number of residents in each area. Larger areas with more residents might be considered for higher allocations for the development and comfort of the people,” he said.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, when tabling the Selangor Budget 2024, said RM24 million was allocated to improve the quality of public facilities and build new amenities.
Amirudin said RM10 million was allocated to paint and fix facilities at low- and medium-cost high-rises more than 15 years old, while RM14 million was allocated to 56 state constituencies, each receiving RM250,000.
