SHAH ALAM, Sept 13 — Nearly 3,500 job vacancies in the aviation industry are available at the one-day career fair held in conjunction with the ongoing Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) 2024 today.

State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu said in all, 3,459 job opportunities are being offered by 38 different employers involved in the industry.

“This career fair is a progressive effort to showcase local talent as well as reflect the growing demands in the sector,” he said when officiating the opening ceremony of the job fair at SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre (RAC), Bukit Jelutong, here today.

SAS 2024 is being held for three days beginning yesterday.

Papparaidu said the success of the career fair will be judged not only by the number of jobs being offered but also by the quality and long-term sustainability of the careers established.

“The substantial growth (in jobs being offered) highlights the increasing opportunities for our talent pool, signalling a positive momentum in our job market,” he said.

Meanwhile, citing recent data, Papparaidu said of the over 1 million people who have found job placements through the Human Resources Ministry’s MYFutureJobs initiative, 268,009 were from Selangor.

“This demonstrates the Federal government’s initiative in activating the labour market activities through interventions, which offer job opportunities to talents and employers, particularly in Selangor,” he said.

He added that 1,002,356 vacancies have been listed on the MYFutureJobs portal so far this year, with 33,367 in the transportation industry.
