SHAH ALAM, Oct 18 – The Federal government will prioritise the completion of existing major infrastructure projects, including the completion of the West Coast Expressway (WCE), specifically the Banting to Gelang Patah section, as a means to alleviate traffic along the North-South Highway.

During his Budget 2025 speech in Parliament today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government is focusing on tightening its fiscal expenditure and is not looking to launch any new mega infrastructure projects.

The government will consider the user-pay principle to ensure the sustainable development of infrastructure projects.

Among the projects in Selangor that are being given attention to are the flood mitigation project in Sungai Langat 2 and the Port Klang expansion project, aiming to turn the national port into the 10 best ports in the world.

Other projects also include the road expansion between Pulau Indah and Klang Northport.
