Driving economy, drawing investments is 2025 Selangor Budget’s focus

SHAH ALAM, Oct 30 — The 2025 Selangor Budget, to be tabled on November 15, outlines several specific initiatives aimed at driving economic growth and attracting investment to the state.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this is to ensure that economic prosperity can be enjoyed collectively.

“With three weeks remaining before the presentation of the 2025 Selangor Budget, I held a dedicated discussion on the budget speech with the State Economic Planning Unit and the Selangor Treasury, which was attended by State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim.

“InsyaAllah, several more specific initiatives will be presented in the budget, to drive the economy and attract investment to the state so that economic prosperity can be enjoyed collectively,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Previously, Amirudin said that the 2025 Selangor Budget addresses new challenges to maintain the state’s momentum as the country’s largest economic contributor.

The administration aims to advance the digitalisation sector, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) technology, by establishing the first AI development centre in Selangor.

State Legislative Assembly Speaker Lau Weng San previously said the presentation of Selangor’s projected annual expenditure is scheduled alongside the assembly session, which is set to run until November 29.
