SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 — The Selangor International Halal Conference (Selhac) 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre last week recorded over 6,000 visitors from across the country.

Halal International Selangor (HIS) Toyyiba Sdn Bhd general manager Muhammad Syaril Showkat Ali said this year’s Selhac strengthened relations with agencies from Japan, the United States (US), the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, China, and Vietnam.

He said the collaboration helped pave the way for future partnerships and expanded market opportunities within the halal industry.

“The Halal Market Expansion Forum successfully attracted key market experts from countries such as Saudi Arabia, China, the US, and Canada.

“This session focused on strategies for entrepreneurs looking to expand their markets, offering guidance on compliance regulation, market research, and effective marketing strategies,” he told Media Selangor.

Syaril added that Selhac 2024 also introduced the Certificate Readiness Assessment (CRA) system, a pioneering tool to help entrepreneurs evaluate their readiness for obtaining halal certification.

The CRA plays a crucial role in streamlining the certification process, making it more accessible to all types of businesses.

“By providing a comprehensive report that includes cost and time estimates, the CRA system will help simplify the certification process, making it more accessible to businesses of all sizes,” he said.

Selhac 2024, held from October 16 to October 19, was officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari in conjunction with the second series of the Selangor International Business Summit 2024.

With the theme ‘Strengthening the Halal Ecosystem’, Selhac 2024 hosted various forums, business matching sessions, and exhibitions that brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and halal businesses from around the world.
