SHAH ALAM, Oct 16 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj graciously received over RM3.9 million in business zakat from Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) today.

The zakat payment for the financial year ending 2023 was presented by PNB chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda to His Royal Highness at Istana Bukit Kayangan.

Also in attendance were the Selangor Islamic Religious Council chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, the Mufti of Selangor Datuk Prof Anhar Opir, Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) deputy chairman Tan Sri Ambrin Buang, and LZS chief executive officer Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini.

Speaking to the press after the presentation ceremony, Sabirin expressed his appreciation and gratitude to PNB for fulfilling the obligation of Islam’s fourth pillar, with the payment being higher than last year.

“Alhamdulillah, this amount reflects the blessings received by PNB, which fulfilled its responsibility to pay zakat.

“We take this opportunity to thank PNB for their continued support and commitment over the years in organising various activities with LZS,” he said.
