SHAH ALAM, Oct 24 — Selangor plans to highlight its traditional music and heritage cuisine to tourists during the Visit Selangor Year 2025 next year.
State executive councillor for culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said RM1.3 million has been allocated to bring this initiative to life.
“2025 is Visit Selangor Year, and we need to play a major role. In 2026, it’s Visit Malaysia Year, and Selangor will also host the Malaysia Games (Sukma).
“As a cultural entity and a key player under Tourism Selangor, we have a pivotal role in ensuring that Selangor shines on the world stage, making a strong impression on both local and international visitors,” he remarked.
“As a cultural entity and under Tourism Selangor, we have a pivotal role in ensuring that Selangor is prominently showcased to visitors, both domestic and international,” he said.
He said this during the Hai Selangor programme on SelangorTV, focusing on the upcoming Rentak Selangor 2024: Evolution of 80s Music and Rhythm event, here, today.
Meanwhile, Borhan said the state government plans to continue producing Hari Raya festive dramas next year, following this year’s success.
“Every year, we produce dramas. This year, we had ‘Ayah Panggil Balik’, aired for two weeks during Hari Raya, which received great response, with high ratings on TV2.
“Next year, we will continue with this plan, bringing the state government’s agenda nationwide through social media and other platforms.”
