KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — The ringgit extended its gains against the US dollar at the opening session today as the government and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) stepped in to cushion the economic impact of Covid-19 on the country due to the extended Movement Control Order announced yesterday.

At 9.00 am, the local note stood at 4.3800/3950 against the greenback compared with Wednesday’s closing of 4.3838/3670.
