SHAH ALAM, April 10 — The Hulu Langat and Petaling district have recorded the highest spike in positive Covid-19 cases in Selangor, says the state Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC).
According to the latest data by the Selangor CPRC as of 9pm yesterday, both districts saw an increase of 14 and 11 cases respectively.
Other districts which had a rise in the number of cases include Klang with 10 cases, Gombak (7), Sepang (5), Sabak Bernam (2) as well as Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat recording one case each.
No new infection was recorded in Kuala Selangor.
Selangor CPRC also revealed that the Hulu Langat district registered 370 positive Covid-19 cases, which is the among the six red zones in Selangor.
The five other red zones are Petaling with 319 cases, Klang (146), Gombak (119), Sepang (54) and Hulu Selangor (41).
As of yesterday noon, Hulu Selangor was classified as the latest red zone after the district recorded 41 cases.
On Wednesday, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) will begin coordinating large-scale testing for Covid-19, which aims to get 1,000 to 1,200 individuals screened.
The Health Ministry has classified areas with more than 40 cases as a red zone, areas with 20 to 40 cases are considered an orange zone, and those with no recorded cases are categorised as a green zone.
