Thunderstorms, heavy rain warning in Klang Valley, three other states

SHAH ALAM, Feb 24 — The Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Selangor until 2pm today.

In the warning issued at 10.40am on Facebook, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya are expected to see the wet weather.

It also warned of heavy rain and thunderstorms in Perak (Manjung, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Kuala Pilah and Jempol) and Johor (Pontian).

The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to take place for over an hour.

A thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued.
