SHAH ALAM, Sept 6 — The rainfall prevalent throughout most of the state today will soon be limited to one until tonight, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)

In a statement issued at 5.15pm, it said Hulu Langat will be affected.

“Other states and territories which will see strong weather include Gua Musang in Kelantan, Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu, Kedah (Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), and Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah and Jempol).

“Elsewhere, Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin) and Johor (Segamat, Mersing, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru) will also be affected,” said the agency.

The weather is expected to persist until 9pm.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
