GE15: MB cancels campaign event, visits flood victims in Klang

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari cancelled his 15th general election political campaign event in Gombak tonight to visit flood-affected victims at several temporary relief centres (PPS) in Klang and Petaling districts.

He requested prayers of safety for the people of Selangor during this trying time, and said he will help with the coordination of immediate assistance from the relevant agencies.

“I have cancelled my campaign events for tonight in Gombak, and will be visiting several PPS in Klang and Petaling to check on the flood victims.

“I will also coordinate with the related agencies on their immediate assistance to those in need. Please pray that all matters will go smoothly and that the people of Selangor will be given protection by Allah SWT,” Amirudin said in a Facebook post this evening.

Earlier, several areas in Klang were hit by flash floods. Following that, the state government mobilised assets and fire engines to Kapar and Meru in Klang to help affected residents.
