MBSJ readies several locations for residents to move vehicles in event of floods

SHAH ALAM, Nov 17 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has prepared temporary vehicle evacuation areas for residents to use, in the event of a disaster.

MBSJ said the areas are divided into five zones to make it easier for those affected by floods or landslides.

“Through the MBSJ Disaster Relief Operation Plan, the council has identified several temporary locations for residents living in high-risk disaster areas to park their vehicles in safety.

“This initiative is to prevent and reduce the amount of property damage during disasters,” it said in a Twitter post today.

The zones involved are Subang Jaya, Kota Kemuning, Sri Serdang, Seri Kembangan, and Kinrara.

Members of the public can obtain more information by contacting the MBSJ Control Centre at 03-8024 7700 from Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department has forecasted that Selangor will experience a shift from the southwest monsoon to northeast monsoon with a rainfall rate of between 100 and 400 millimetres from the middle of this month until December.
