SHAH ALAM, May 28 — Nearly 200 participants attended the Selangor Special Children (Anis) Symposium 3.0 at the Ideal Convention Center (IDCC), here yesterday.

Its department head Danial Al-Rashid Haron said the annual programme aims to provide exposure and information to parents with special needs children.

“The state government always prioritises special needs children and through this symposium, we present various beneficial insights for parents who have children with special needs.

“We hope that the sharing today (yesterday) will provide new knowledge to parents who may have children with autism, and at the very least, they will know how to raise these children,” he said.

According to Danial, the symposium also serves as a platform to gather educators from the Integrated Special Education Programme and Community Rehabilitation Programme to discuss the challenges of educating special needs children.

“This is a continuation of the Anis programme throughout the year, where we gather and bring together various perspectives for discussion today (yesterday),” he said.

He added that Anis also provides an opportunity for parents who wish to enroll their children for intervention treatments by applying through http://www.anisselangor.com/intervensianis.

Registration is open throughout the year and available to children with autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), speech delay, and Down syndrome.
