Water supply to six areas restored at 8.30am

SHAH ALAM, Aug 13 — Water supply in six areas was restored at 8.30am today after disruptions due to reduced treated water output at four plants.

Air Selangor Sdn Bhd said on Facebook that supply will recover in stages when the distribution system stabilises at 12pm.

“Water supply to different areas will be restored at different times depending on the location and distance of user premises (from affected water treatment plants).

“Air Selangor will continue sending water tankers to affected areas, with priority to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral ceremonies,” it said.

Users may view the list of affected areas at Air Selangor’s website or on its app.

Yesterday, the Rantau Panjang and Sungai Selangor Phases 1 to 3 water treatment plants saw murky raw water from a water surge incident.

Users in six areas — Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Shah Alam, Klang and Kuala Selangor — experienced supply disruptions.
