SHAH ALAM, Aug 19 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari paid a visit to the next-of-kin and family members of the Guthrie Highway light aircraft crash victims, at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang yesterday.
Accompanying him were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and Pahang Chief Minister Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
“I am deeply grieved when meeting the heirs and family members of the accident victims. I also extend my condolences and pray for all to be resolved.
“The state government is ready to provide the necessary assistance,” Amirudin said on X (formerly known as Twitter).
On his part, Anwar said the government is ready to assist in managing the remains of the ten accident victims, so as to ease the burden of their families, especially those without stable employment.
The incident on Thursday (August 17) claimed the lives of six passengers, including Pahang state assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun, two crew members, and two members of the public.
The aircraft, a Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) light business jet, was en route from Langkawi to Subang and had been cleared to land at 2:48pm on that day.
Meanwhile, in GOMBAK today, the Menteri Besar spent time chatting with members of the public at the Selayang Baru morning market food court.
Arriving at 9.10am, he was accompanied by Selayang Municipal Council President Datuk Mohd Yazid Sairi, and the Menteri Besar’s regional political secretary Rahim Kasdi.
Amirudin enjoyed a meal of appam tepung beras with santan and teh tarik, alongside Mohd Yazid and several residents.
The Gombak MP also took time to take part in group photos with members of the public who requested it of him.
He also purchased ayam kampung and mackerel fish during his visit to traders on the ground floor of the market.
Meanwhile, food stall owner S. Nedumaran said appam tepung beras is Amirudin’s favourite breakfast meal.
“When Dato’ Seri visits the morning market, he always orders appam tepung beras for breakfast,” he said.
