Israel conducts more than 100 deadly airstrikes on Gaza City in an hour

GAZA CITY, Nov 6 — The Israeli army launched more than 100 airstrikes on Gaza City in less than an hour on Sunday, killing and wounding a large number of Palestinians according to an Anadolu Agency correspondent.

The violent bombardment targeted various areas of the city, coinciding with a communications and internet outage.

The airstrikes caused many casualties as they completely destroyed a residential block in the Al-Shati refugee camp.

The bombings were unprecedented since the start of the war and targeted areas in the northwest, centre and southwest in Gaza City.

Ambulances are unable to travel to the sites due to the intensity of the bombings.

Dust and smoke engulfed the skies over Gaza.

The bombings targeted the vicinity of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip, as well as residential areas, roads, the city’s port area and various areas from northwest to southwest Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Palestinian Telecommunications Company Paltel said earlier that Israel cut off all types of communications service from the Gaza Strip, the third cut in about 10 days.

The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli bombardments in the Gaza Strip has risen to 9,770, the Health Ministry in the blockaded enclave announced Sunday.

“The death toll as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct 7 is 9,770, including 4,800 children and 2,550 women,” the ministry said in a statement.
