“PPMM also fully supports efforts to strengthen the powers of the Syariah Court through the committee which consists of experts in various backgrounds in the field of law, including Syariah,” he said.

Anwar said the committee will examine and discuss with muftis and all relevant parties to obtain views so regulations that can be implemented to improve the jurisdiction of the Syariah Court.

“PPMM continues to fully support efforts towards resolving the issue of overlapping jurisdiction between the states and the Federal government and is committed to ensuring that the principles of the Federal Constitution is maintained in order to preserve peace and harmony in Malaysia,” he said.
