SHAH ALAM, Dec 8 — Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Bhd (KHSB) has the potential to grow by 10 per cent potential in the development industry, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
Following the rebranding of the company, wholly owned by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, he said the state agency could become a significant growth catalyst by branching out into new areas, particularly in the northern region of Selangor, citing projects in Bernam Jaya as an example.
“KHSB actively supports Selangor’s development sector, contributing to the state’s economy.
“… although currently at a modest six to seven per cent, the contribution is expected to grow to 10 per cent in the future, surpassing other regions in Malaysia and meeting the local demands,” Amirudin said.
He was speaking to the press after launching KHSB’s new corporate identity rebranding at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) today.
Despite the rebranding, KHSB remains committed to Selangor’s growth as it plays an important role in the state’s economy.
Citing some of the state agency’s achievements, Amirudin highlighted the collaboration between KHSB and two public-listed property companies to develop projects in Petaling Jaya and Bernam Jaya, with a RM1.5 billion gross development value (GDV).
KHSB will also develop an affordable housing project featuring townhouse development in Bukit Cherakah, Shah Alam, which is set to launch next year.
Meanwhile, KHSB chief executive officer Rahana Abdullah, in her opening remarks, said that the company is ready to move one step ahead in the development sector, particularly for affordable housing in Selangor.
“The rebranding exercise goes beyond a mere logo change, but it is about creating a stronger corporate culture to revitalise its identity and ensure its relevance and commitment to innovation.
“The rebranding of corporate identity also includes a redefined brand purpose, ‘Championing Quality Living and Communities’, in line with KHSB’s aspirations and value,” she added.
