KLANG, June 16 — Sentosa state assemblyman G Gunaraj continues the Clean and Green campaign to educate and raise awareness among the community about the importance of environmental care.

He said the campaign, introduced in 2019, aims to educate the community about maintaining environmental cleanliness and making it a daily routine.

“The community often raises issues like floods and drains that contractors should address, but in reality, this is a shared responsibility.

“Therefore, this campaign is to educate the community to collectively take care of the environment by ensuring their homes are always clean and by not littering,” he said after launching the campaign today.

Gunaraj added that the campaign would also be extended to schools to instil early awareness among children.

“We will implement this campaign at the school level by conducting awareness programmes in two schools in the near future.

“Additionally, we will carry out recycling programmes and tree planting initiatives as efforts to conserve and re-green the environment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Klang Deputy Mayor Mohd Zary Affendi Mohd Arif said the campaign should be emulated by all parties, including other state assemblymen.

“This approach should be followed and implemented by all parties as it can foster awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness.

“Implementing this campaign should be publicised in every community so everyone gets involved and more residents can participate,” he said.
