KLANG, AUG 15: The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) managed to collect at least RM10,000 from temporary permits involving 25 premises in Bukit Raja in a recent operation.
MPK Secretary Adi Faizal Ahmad Tarmizi said all the premises had failed to comply with chair permit guidelines.
“As such, MPK placed stickers on the tables and gave them a month to apply for the necessary permit.
“Permit is based on the number of tables outside the premises, for example RM1 for each table a day,” he said during the operation.
Adi Faizal also said that throughout the three-day operation, he found that many premises placed chairs and tables outside their premises without MPK’s permit.
Nevertheless, all premises involved had cooperated well and adhered to the enforcement action.
“This is a proactive action on the part of MPK, to monitor and check to ensure that food premises comply with set guidelines.
“Besides checking their permits, we also gave advice on cleanliness and other permits that they would need to apply.
“We welcome any traders who are putting their chairs and tables outside their premises, whom we have yet to visit, to apply for the necessary permits at our licensing department,” he said.
