IDE: 59% Selangor voters support Pakatan, 29% BN

SHAH ALAM, SEP 27: Selangor voters still place their trust in Pakatan to continue administrating the state with 59% support.
According to an Institut Darul Ehsan (IDE) poll  , Barisan Nasional (BN) has only 29% support, with 12% of respondents undecided.
IDE Deputy Chairman Prof Dato’ Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman said that the results were based on 1,761 respondents from a survey conducted between August 26 and 30, 2016.
“63% of Selangor voters voted based on party as a determining factor while only 37% voted based on the candidate,” he said.
He said this while speaking to at the press conference in Carlton Hotels and Suites at Shah Alam.
He said that the 2015 Selangor Political Landscape Study was the 23rd study done and involved face-to-face interviews withan accumulated 31,341 respondents.

Mohammad Redzuan said that 43% of the rakyat were confident that Pakatan would retain the Selangor State Government while 39% were unsure and 18% said no.
Selangor voters are excited to vote for the upcoming 14th General Elections, with a resounding 78% response.
The use of social media is also expected to create an impact on the upcoming elections by enabling the rakyat to access information almost instantaneously.
“Whatsapp and FAcebook are the most used media social apps used by voters in Selangor.

“For 2016, 75% of voters use Whatsapp compared to 67% in 2015 while Facebook is second with 68% use for 2016 and 58% in 2015. Email is third, followed by YouTube and Instagram.
“This proves that Malaysian society is very much involed in the democratic process,” he said.
