SHAH ALAM, OCT 31: Assessment tax and business license fees will continue to be exempted for 2017, Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said.
He urged all local authorities to take early measures to ensure the exemption is implemented immediately on January 1, 2017.
“The Rakyat is still suffering due to the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax and the constricting 2017 Putrajaya Budget.
“Thus in 2017, the State Government will continue the tax and license fees exemption programme,” he said during the tabling of the 2017 Selangor Budget on October 31.
In 2016, the State Government absorbed a financial impact of RM62 million after the implementation of the programme.
“One of the rakyat-centric state government initiatives to aid low cost house owners and residents of traditional and new villages in 2016 is through the exemption of assessment tax.
“Small traders will also continue to receive attention from the State Government through the exemption of business license fees,” he added.
