Selangor to unveil a balanced budget

BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
BANTING, OCT 22: The Selangor government will table its 2017 Budget using a balanced approach to development and administration.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the approach was formulated after taking the factors of economic growth and state financial performance into consideration.
“I am taking the brave step of tabling a balanced budget with 50% development and 50% administration.
“We are confident that the strong economic growth will encourage us to take an aggressive approach for 2017,” he said to the media after officiating the Selangor Agrofest at the parking lot at Morib Beach.
Mohamed Azmin previously allocated 47% for development expenditure and 53% for administration expenditure during the 2016 State Budget.
That approach strengthened the rakyat-centric policy introduced by the state government since 2008.
Mohamed Azmin will table the state budget on October 31, which will also focus on strengthening and boosting the rakyat’s economy.
