Landslide: State Government allocates RM5 mil for road

SERENDAH, NOV 29: As much as RM5 million will be allocated for the entire repairs related to the landslide at Taman Idaman, Serendah.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said repairs included rebuilding the main road at the site of the incident.
“The state government agrees to pay for the rebuilding the main road that runs through the area at an estimated cost of RM5 million.
“The state treasury will prepare the allocation and when the Selangor JKR report is issued, the new road construction operation will be expedited,” he said at a press conference after visiting the site of the landslide this morning.

He also said that his office received a full report regarding the incident within 48 hours.
“The report is based on the needs of the research report. However, I estimate under normal circumstances, a report can be issued within 48 hours to the state authorities.
“We will also decide whether the area in which the incident occurred is truly safe for residents based on the report,” he said.
The Hulu Selangor District Police Chief, Superintendent R Supramaniam announced that a technical team from the Selangor Public Works Department was ordered to conduct further investigation regarding the landslide.
