WUF9 international forum: Full support brings success

SETIA ALAM, NOV 30:  The State Government, through the Department of Selangor Town and Country Planning (JPBD), cooperated on a Federal level to launch the 9th World Urban Forum (WUF9).
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said that to ensure the continuity of the program, the JPBD contacted the secretariat of the parent company to help launch the international forum.
“Malaysia will host WUF9, which is recognized by the Resolution of the General Assembly 70/210 as the first session, with a focus on the theme ‘New Urban Agenda’.
“On behalf of the State Government, we will fully support and assist in order for this program can be implemented successfully in February 2018,” he said.
He made the announcement at the opening ceremony of the Town and Country Planning Seminar in conjunction with ‘Perancangan Bandar Sedua’ Day, for Selangor State Level 2016 at Setia Alam Convention Centre, on November 29.
Mohamed Azmin said that WUF was organized by the United Nation Habitat (UN-HABITAT) for the ninth time.
“WUF is internationally recognized as the global arena examining critical issues faced by the world today.
“Among key issues faced by the world today is the issue of human settlements, including urbanization and its impact on society, the economy and climate change,” he said.
