Selangor attracts investors from Japan, China

By Nazli Ibrahim

SHAH ALAM, Nov 5 — The balanced ecosystem and complete infrastructure developed in Selangor has attracted the interest of foreign investment into the state.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said this has also attracted some of the largest economies in the world to invest in the state, such as Japan and China.

“There are three factories from China that want to start up here in Selangor with an investment value of over RM3 billion,” he said at the state legislative assembly, here today.

Amiruddin added that aside from China and Japan, there were other countries that had shown their interest to invest as well.

At the launch of Selangor International Business Summit 2019 last month, Amirudin said that Selangor is on track to hit its manufacturing sector investment target of RM10 billion for this year.

Selangor had in 2018 achieved an investment performance of RM19 billion for the manufacturing sector.
