Indonesia reports 60 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours

JAKARTA, April 14 — Indonesia recorded 60 more deaths due to Covid-19 in the span of 24-hours, the highest so far since the first death on March 11.

The government’s spokesperson for Covid-19 Achmad Yurianto said the death toll due to the virus in the country now climbed to 459.

Thirty-seven of the 60 deaths were in Jakarta.

The capital city recorded the highest death toll of 241 cases, followed by West Java (52 cases), East Java (41) and the rest in other regions of Indonesia.

“From noon yesterday to noon today, 282 new cases were reported, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 4,839,” he said.
