List of fake news on social media

KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — The following is the 11.30 am update from the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (MCMC) Quick Response Team on countering fake news on Covid-19 on social media.

1. The Sabah Department of Health denies the allegation that a private clinic in the Sandakan district was closed from April 19 to 28, after a Covid-19 sporadic case sought preliminary treatment at the clinic. The department explained that the clinic was, in fact, closed for routine disinfection.

2. The Sabah Department of Health denies the allegation that a Covid-19 positive patient in Kudat has fled in a Perodua Kancil car and that the police were purportedly on the hunt for the individual.
