BANGI, April 7 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari applauds the decision by the police to close eight roads in Kajang following the second phase of the movement control order (MCO).

He said the barricaded routes are connected to several high-risk Covid-19 areas.

“Sungai Ramal Dalam is one of the areas that recorded a high number of Covid-19 infection.

“Therefore, more restrictions are in place in Kajang during the second phase of the MCO to limit the movement of the people from one place to another,” he told reporters after visiting the quarantine centre located at the Judicial and Legal Training Institute (ILKAP), here today.

Earlier today, Kajang district police chief ACP Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussoff said eight roads will be closed and more roadblocks will be in place in the area.

The roads affected include Jalan Sungai Chua – KTM tunnel exit; Jalan Reko – MRT; Jalan Cheras – Jalan Timur (opposite the Jamek Kajang Mosque); Jalan Semenyih – Jalan Low Ti Kok; the exit towards Jalan TTDI Grove 2/1 from Persiaran Saujana Impian; and Jalan TTDI Grove 1/1.

Other road closures include Persiaran Saujana Impian – Jalan Melor 1; Jalan Sungai Kantan from Desa Jenaris and Persiaran Saujana Impian; and the road bordering Bandar Seri Putra – Nilai 3.
