SHAH ALAM, April 13 — The Selangor administration has welcomed the Federal government’s decision to cease the operations of hair salons, barbershops and optical shops in the country during the movement control order (MCO) period.

Selangor Local Government, Public Transport and New Village Development Committee chairman Ng Sze Han said the state administration has taken a similar approach after considering the people’s safety and health factors.

“Selangor welcomes the decision made by the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the state administration has made the same decision over the matter considering the safety of everyone,” Ng said in a statement today.

Earlier today, the Federal government had imposed a blanket ban on barber services, hair salons, optical shops as well as Ramadan bazaars from operating throughout the third phase of the MCO.

The ban was decided following the public feedback on the government’s decision on Friday in allowing the sectors to open during MCO on several restrictions.
