Recoveries outnumber Covid-19 daily cases, no death reported

SHAH ALAM, May 20 — The total number of recoveries recorded from Covid-19 is at 60 as of noon today, which exceeds the number of new confirmed cases.

This brings the total recoveries to 5,706 or translated to 81.4 per cent of the accumulated cases.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 31 new cases were registered today, where 10 were imported cases and the remaining 21 are local transmissions, with 10 involving foreigners.

The total Covid-19 tally in Malaysia now is 7,009 with 1,189 active cases.

“A total of 11 positive Covid-19 cases are still being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and seven of them require respiratory aid,” he told a press briefing on Covid-19 at the Health Ministry in Putrajaya, today.

There were no deaths reported and the death toll remains at 114.
