Selangor MB conveys condolences to family of Ismail Kamus

SHAH ALAM, May 8 — Selangor Menteri Besar today expressed his condolences to the family of prominent Islamic preacher Datuk Ismail Kamus, who passed away early this morning.

The late Ismail was warded at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on April 26 due to lung infection.

“I received the sad news of the passing of Ustaz Datuk Ismail Kamus. May his soul is blessed and placed among the righteous in the highest place in paradise,” Amirudin said on Twitter.

“My condolences to the family of Almarhum.”

Ismail, who was the Gombak Setia state assemblyperson from 1999 to 2004 as well as a former PAS central committee member, had passed away at the age of 72.

According to a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Ismail had breathed his last breath at his family home in Ampang at 12.30am.

Born on December 2, 1948, in Kampung Batang Rening, Ulu Selangor, the late Ismail had studied at Kolej Islam Klang and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia before furthering his studies at Beaver College in Pennsylvania, US

He had recevied his early education at the Sekolah Arab Batang Kali and Ma’ahad Hisyamuddin, Klang.
