Four to be charged with violating SOP in Tawau

Tawau district police chief ACP Peter Umbuas said six others had been issued compound fines for committing similar offences, which have been recorded since September 29.

“Members of the public are advised to adhere to the SOP issued by the authorities for the benefit of all, (and) to observe physical distancing.

“Besides mounting roadblocks, police have also activated eight teams to monitor compliance with the SOP set by the Health Ministry and National Security Council,” he told reporters after monitoring a roadblock operation at Batu 2, Jalan Apas here today.

He said a special patrol team had been established to prevent the entry of illegal immigrants, especially at identified rat trails.

The squad would be assisted by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom), he added.
