Water supply fully restored in 46 areas, 228 still in recovery process

SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — A total of 46 areas that have experienced water supply disruption have its water supply fully restored as of 8am this morning.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said in a Facebook post that 228 more areas are still in the process of recovery.

It said the percentage of rehabilitation is at 17 per cent as of 8am.

“The percentage of recovery according to the regions involved is at 55 per cent in Kuala Langat and 37 per cent in Petaling, whereas Hulu Langat, Sepang and Putrajaya are still in the recovery process,” it stated.

Yesterday, Air Selangor chief executive officer Suhaimi Kamaralzaman said the water supply in all 274 affected areas is expected to recover in stages beginning today until 6pm on Friday.

The full restoration of water supply is divided into three main groups — 145 areas to have full recovery by 6 pm today; 91 areas by 6pm tomorrow; and 38 areas by 6pm on Friday.

A total of 309,687 account holders in four districts in Selangor are experiencing unscheduled water cuts since Sunday after the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi Water Treatment Plants had ceased operations.
