PETALING JAYA, July 1 — The Selangor Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS) has distributed 3,500 food packs to the residents in Mentari Court, PJS 8, here, after the area comes under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting today.

Its chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Ghariff Ramin said the food packs consisting of rice, flour, sugar, sardines cans, cooking oil and tea powder that would be sufficient to help the residents for two weeks.

“This is the second assistance we have provided for an area placed under EMCO. Early last month, we distributed more than 1,000 food packs including fresh goods to the residents in Taman Pertama, Taman Serendah and Taman Prima, Sabak Bernam.

“We are always ready to assist other areas enforced under the EMCO as well should we receive instructions from the state government. We will do our best to help those affected,” said Abdul Ghariff when met after handing over the food packs to Petaling district officer Datuk Johary Anuar.

Apart from Mentari Court, the EMCO was also imposed on Taman Perumahan SS 91A, Sungai Way and Pangsapuri Westlite – PKNS for 14 days starting today.

This was following the high infection rate identified in the said locations.
