By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, Sept 30 — The state government received a contribution amounting to RM10.4 million from Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) to be distributed to those in need in Selangor.

The amount includes RM6 million for the company’s annual contribution, RM400,660.26 for the heritage fund, Selangor Prihatin Humanitarian Fund (RM10,000) and the Kita Selangor Package 2.0  (RM4 million).

The state government-owned mining and mineral resource management company also contributed some RM20,000 to the Selangor Prihatin Tahfiz Fund.

The contribution was handed over by KSSB managing director and chief executive officer Abdul Rahman Ishak to the Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari at the Selangor State Secretariat Building, here yesterday.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said the donation is part of the company’s corporate responsibility in helping the state government during the challenging times due to the pandemic.

“KSSB was established specifically to arrange and manage sand quarrying activities in Selangor apart from being mandated to maintain the roads under the Public Works Department, recently.

“Hence, the donation would support the state government’s initiative and will be donated to those in need in the state,” he said in a press conference, yesterday.

On December 13, 2019, KSSB won the award for the Best Practices in Sustainable Mineral Development (Non-Metallic Minerals Distribution) category at the 2nd Asean Mineral Awards (AMA) in Bangkok, Thailand
